Cod belongs to 'Cod' genus and is found mainly in the Nordic countries and in cold climates, especially in the Atlantic and the North Sea and the Pacific. It has a pleasant taste and low fat, high protein and dense white flesh. Since the liver of cod liver oil provided the source very important for vitamins A, D, K and omega 3 fatty acids.
